Experience Clear Vision Again
Pediatric Optometry
Children, unlike adults, need special care and attention when it comes to eye examination or dealing with an eye condition. The eye of a child is different from that of an adult because it is still immature and developing. Good vision is dependent on the proper development of the eye and with good connections between the eye and the brain. Therefore, any condition affecting the child’s vision must be treated at the earliest. The Paediatric Optometry services at Global Eye Hospital are equipped to provide the best possible care for children’s eye problems, whether simple or complex.

Every child should undergo a comprehensive eye examination at least before they get enrolled into a school. There are conditions such as Refractive Error and Amblyopia which can go unnoticed if not tested for specifically at a very early age. Young children who are under the age of 5 years are vulnerable to these kinds of problems as they cannot express themselves. Hence periodic eye check-up is advisable for this age group. It becomes even more essential for children to undergo early screening if they have a family history of having some eye problems. Eye examination at each age differs. Examining a 5 year old child is different from examining a 2 year old child. As age changes their visual status differs and so are their visual needs.Global eye hospital is equipped with diverse visual acuity tests that can be done for different age groups.

2. Amblyopia Clinic
At Global eye Hospital, we focus on diagnosing and treating amblyopia, commonly known as lazy eye. Our dedicated team provides personalized care to help children and adults achieve optimal vision.
Amblyopia is a developmental vision disorder where one eye fails to achieve normal visual acuity, typically due to improper visual input during critical developmental periods. It can occur due to various reasons, including strabismus (misaligned eyes), significant refractive errors, or visual deprivation. Amblyopia is most effectively treated when diagnosed early. Delayed treatment can result in permanent vision loss in the affected eye. Effective treatment can significantly enhance a child's academic performance and social interactions, as well as overall self-esteem. Our team of experienced optometrists and vision therapists specializes in amblyopia treatment and is committed to achieving the best outcomes for our patients. We utilize the latest diagnostic tools and treatment modalities to ensure comprehensive care. If you suspect that you or your child may have amblyopia, it’s essential to seek professional evaluation. 3. Squint Clinic
Squint, or strabismus, is a condition where the eyes do not align properly, where one eye may look straight ahead while the other may turn inward, outward, upward, or downward. This misalignment can affect a child's vision and depth perception. Early detection and intervention are crucial for effective treatment. Addressing squint in children can prevent long-term vision problems and improve overall quality of life. Regular eye exams are important, especially for children with a family history of refractive error or squint. If you suspect your child has a squint or if there are any concerns about their vision, it’s important to consult an eye care professional. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment can lead to significant improvements in your child's vision and self-esteem.
At Global Eye Hospital, our thorough eye examinations pave the way for your child to reclaim clear vision and optimal eye alignment, utilizing cutting-edge vision therapy technologies designed for effective results.
Clinic For Special Kids
This clinic provides the much needed special attention and functional vision assessment for children with special needs like cerebral palsy, cortical visual impairment, Autistic spectrum, Attention deficit, ADHD, multiple disabilities and vision impairment, and delayed milestones. We have been doing this to a certain extent so far in the OPD itself and now have felt the need to consolidate this under the “Special Children Clinic". This clinic will pave ways to come out with defined protocols for assessment and management of this population.
